Difference between Physical Activity and Exercise


Physical activity is any movement that is done by your body. Walking, eating, and climbing stairs are all examples of physical activity. Exercise is planned, structured, repetitive, and intentional movement done for improving or maintaining physical fitness. Playing sports, cycling or working out at a gym, fall under the category of exercise.

Regular physical activities are usually not that intense to play any role in providing physical benefits. Adapting a regular exercise routine can bring revolutionary improvements in our health. The intensity and duration of exercise may vary from person to person. A common measure used for differentiating whether a task is moderate or vigorous is,to talk while performing it. If you can manage that, it is a moderate task. In case you have to stop after few words for a breath, this is a vigorous task. The results of a properly plannedexercise routine are much better than the use of steroids.

Physical active life can help you stay fit and healthy but to bring certain improvements in our body, we need to devise an exercise program which must include all the above mentioned characteristics. At the same time, we should not look for shortcuts like Anabolic steroids and other drugs. The immediate effects of these drugs might please you but, in the long run, they can have fatal effects to our bodies.The secret of living a healthy life is to stay fit through proper diet and exercise routines.
