Irfan Pathan is set to play for Gujarat Lions for the rest of IPL 2017. The team has already missed the services of Dwayne Bravo due to an injury and were in search of a replacement.
Pathan took to twitter to announce this development, saying he’s delighted to be part of the Gujarat Lions unit.
Pathan, who had a base price of Rs 50 Lakh, wasn’t picked in the auctions earlier this year after being released by Rising Pune SuperGiant. This will be Pathan’s sixth IPL team, having already played for KXIP, Delhi Daredevils, SRH, CSK and RPS. He has played a total of 102 games in IPL with 80 wickets and 1137 runs.
Gujarat Lions have been struggling to get their combinations right through this season and were hurt by the absence of Bravo. They are currently placed seventh in the table with four points from seven games.
